This position is for a Loan Document Review/Exceptions Specialist with a company in Pearl, MS.
Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this job is to review (post close and post booking) all types of less complex CDP or lender prepared consumer and commercial loans to ensure proper execution of documents and inclusion of appropriate external documents; review loan, security, and compliance documents and related correspondence for completeness and accuracy in accordance with the application and to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and policies and procedures; and identify, cite, and close documentation exceptions/ticklers. This job requires the ability to proficiently review documents for one or more market areas. Responsibilities Review closed and booked loan packages and related documentation checklist(s) verifying presence, accuracy, completeness, and proper execution of all CDP and lender prepared less complex consumer and commercial loan, security and compliance documents and correspondence, and ensure required external documents have been submitted. Review and interpret loan applications and related data to determine collateral classifications and to ensure appropriate documents were prepared to perfect lien. Identify and cite all loan, security and compliance exceptions utilizing appropriate documentation checklists. Research, review and determine if lender submitted documentation is adequate to remove/close exceptions and system generated ticklers .Communicate with lenders, loan assistants, and loan operations personnel, when necessary, to gather further information to accurately review packages and cite or close exceptions. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Qualifications Knowledge of all types of consumer and commercial collateral security, including real estate, and lien perfection requirements (2 years). Knowledge of loan compliance regulations (2 years). Exposure to existing collateral tracking codes and procedures. Knowledge of review processes and procedures preferred. Knowledge of business entity structures preferred. Analytical skills. Time management principles to prioritize workload. Interpersonal/communication skills. Ability to proficiently communicate applied collateral/loan policy/regulation knowledge to lenders/assistants. Organizational skills. Computer skills. Detail oriented. Customer service. Sound judgment skills. Junior college/two-year college training or equivalent job related experience.
