This Position is for an Assistant Professor of Music (Musicology) with a public university work location in University, MS.
Position Description
The Department of Music at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Music with a specialization in musicology. This position has a start date of August 2025. The successful candidate will teach a 3+2 load that includes core courses in music history at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as specialized courses in the candidate’s primary area of research. The successful candidate is also expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda while establishing a record of creative activity and research productivity through presentations and publications. Service expectations include advising graduate and undergraduate projects, engaging in service within the Department of Music and the University, and participating in professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Ph.D. in musicology or a related field, or hold ABD status with the expectation of degree completion prior to August 2025.
