Render professional nursing service to residents within an assigned unit/wing; provides medication and treatments per physician orders and supervises CNA's to ensure high quality of care is provided.
Qualifications:Has a current license by the State Board of Nursing, as an R.N. or L.P.N.
Ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change, as work schedule will change on a daily basis.
Able to work intemately with residents, physicians and staff.
Capable of working to prescribe nursing standards.
Good interprersonal and communication skills; has an interest to perform a service.
Key Responsibilities:Provides Treatments to residents per physician orders.
Performss nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the residents; checks each resident daily to determine status; ensures residents reach highest attainable level of functioning.
Prepares equipment and assists physicians during their rounds.
Observes resident's reactions to treatments and documents in the medical record.
Ensures proper handling and storage of treatment medications.
Observes,records and reports all services provided.
Change in resident's condition or wounds will be reported to supervisor and attending physician.
Provides education to residents and families regarding wound care.
Assists in planning, supervising and instructing CNA's;assigns daily work assignments to ensure positive outcomes for residents.
Implements and maintains policies and procedures.
Assists in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program and ensures follow-up occurs.
