The Elementary Math Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging math instruction to students in grades K–5. This role focuses on building foundational math skills, fostering problem-solving abilities, and encouraging a positive attitude toward mathematics. The teacher will create a supportive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and confidence in learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Instruction & Curriculum
• Plan, prepare, and deliver daily math lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Integrate technology, manipulatives, and real-world applications to enhance understanding.
• Assessment & Progress Monitoring
• Develop and administer formative and summative assessments.
• Track student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Use data to adjust instruction and support student growth.
• Classroom Management
• Establish a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement positive behavior strategies to encourage student engagement.
• Promote collaboration and teamwork among students.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with other teachers, specialists, and administrators to support student success.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field
• Valid state teaching certification in Elementary Education or Mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of math pedagogy and child development.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a love of mathematics.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with math intervention strategies.
• Familiarity with digital learning tools (e.g., interactive whiteboards, math apps).
• Ability to design creative, hands-on activities that make math fun and accessible.
