Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Director oversees the mental health program, manages staff, operations and budgets while ensuring high-quality, compliant, evidence-based care, involving strategic planning, policy development, staff training, and interdepartmental coordination for improved patient outcomes.
Education Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in nursing or obtained within 2 years Must maintain continuing education hours as required by state of residence nursing licensure
Certification & Licensures Requirements:
Must be a registered nurse in Mississippi or hold a compact state licensure as a registered nurse in the state in which they reside.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
Three years' of experience in Healthcare/Medical as a nurse. Management/staffing experience is a plus.
Language/Communication Skills:
English Required. Multi-Lingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.
Mathematical Skills:
Skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator. Skills in adding and subtracting two-digit numbers. Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents.
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multitasking skills a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do. Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based.
