Job Summary:
This position is responsible for internal and external communications (including internal and public-facing website content and social media), media relations and events support. The person in this position determines content topics, coordinates with others to obtain information, writes, edits and sends to internal and external audiences and produces press releases, announcements and photographs, as needed.
Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations and two (2) years experience in a successful development and execution of public relations and communications activities.

This position requires a fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. This includes communicating procedures and complex concepts to a wide variety of skill and interest levels. This position works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines.
Excellent writing skills, grammar and proofreading skills, effective communication both verbally and written, experience with social media planning and execution, and excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Determine news-worthy stories and write them for internal and external purposes.
Develop website content and general maintenance/updates for webpages.
Social media content and posts.
Develop, organize and execute public relations events.
Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness and seek continual improvements of communication initiatives.
Write, edit and coordinate distribution of information to market, promote and increase the visibility of initiatives and accomplishments.
Facilitate and compile reports as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
Requires occasionally exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level, exposure to heat and cold, occasionally handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment, frequently works hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, constantly travelling to offsite locations, constantly activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constantly work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and constant walking.
