Duties: Conduct research in poultry science, maintain an active publication agenda, perform faculty service.
Requirements: PhD, Poultry Science, or related field. Some solid experience in each of the following: conducting animal nutrition and gut health studies in broiler chickens; animal handling, euthanasia, blood collection, and tissue sampling in compliance with IACUC protocols; conducting E. coli infection and prevention trials on poultry in ABSL-2 animal research facilities; qualitative and quantitative PCR and microbiome analysis for evaluating poultry health and pathogen load; characterizing avian pathogenic E. coli genotypes and whole genomes using next-generation sequencing platforms, including Illumina and Oxford Nanopore. Proficient in data analysis using SAS, SPSS, R, Linux systems for evaluating poultry health, microbiological data, and pathogen genomics. Published peer-reviewed research articles in the fields of poultry science.
