Postion Summary
Tougaloo College invites applications for a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Biology. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of undergraduate biology (lectures and laboratories) courses, including, but not limited to, General Biology, Evolution, Ecology, Microbiology, and Environmental Science. The successful candidate will also advise and mentor students in academic and research contexts; participate in departmental, college, and professional service activities; and continue professional development to remain current. Additionally, the candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active research program. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred.
Experience/Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Biology by the time of appointment. All candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, and an inclusive learning environment. Candidates for the tenure-track position should also show evidence of scholarly potential and the ability to establish a productive research agenda.
