This position is for a Customer Service Representative with a company in Olive Branch, MS.
Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this position is to provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to members, visitors, public and fellow employees. Receive service requests, including but not limited to meter installations and removals, meter changes, security light repairs, line maintenance orders, high bill complaints, reconnects, etc. Process member payments by phone. Process disconnects manual and service collar; process reconnects and apply fees to member’s account. Process job orders into the Customer Information System and distribute paperwork to proper employees or send to mobile dispatch. Receive applications for membership and verify identification and property ownership information. Determine deposit required and miscellaneous charges appropriate for member accounts. Receive member calls for extensions and make arrangements to pay. Receives and records information, comments, inquires, extensions, complaints, etc., and action taken in members’ account. Perform Radio Operator duties when needed. Communicate with Commercial Account Coordinator on commercial account requests and new service. Scan documents into Customer Information System. Create and send letters to members for returned checks, debit/credit cards and other correspondence as needed. Set up debit/credit card billing drafts for members. Back-up front desk receptionist when needed. Answers questions concerning any marketing programs offered by Northcentral. Answer Customer Service emails.
Education and Experience: Entry level position through minimum of 3 years’ experience. Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D Certificate. Must develop knowledge of programs and services offered by Northcentral. Must learn Northcentral’s Customer Information System. Knowledgeable in the use of calculators, Microsoft Office products and other office equipment. Must maintain confidentiality. Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must handle public in a courteous and effective manner both in person and over the telephone, including contacts that may be unpleasant and upset. Must work as part of a team. Must work effectively in highly stressful situations, multitask and have excellent organizational skills. Must have excellent memory to answer member questions regarding Northcentral programs, requirements, policies and procedures. Must gather detailed information from members and accurately update system. Must have a willingness to learn new processes and procedures.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary for extended periods of time, constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, and occasionally move about the office. The employee frequently communicates with employees and customers and must be able to exchange accurate information. The employee must be able to observe/detect/perceive/assess/identify displayed and printed information on the computer and on paper. The employee will occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
