REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
LOCATION: Assigned School
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As determined by the Clarksdale Municipal School District, with wages and work year to be according to the current salary schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Complete at least two years and/or 48 credit semester hours at an institution of higher education, an Associate’s Degree or higher, or demonstrate through a state or local academic assessment (ACT Work Keys) knowledge of and the ability to assist in the instruction of math.
2. Good physical condition with the ability to lift 10 pounds
JOB GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Requires the ability to display knowledge of basic teaching methods and techniques
Requires the ability to display knowledge of classroom methods and procedures
Requires the ability to display basic knowledge of computer principles, techniques, procedures, software applications
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operate reading lab
2. Generate and maintain files for students
3. Retrieve and interpret reports as required
4. Instructs students in computer lab technology and software applications (e.g. answers questions, keyboarding,, reading/math specialized programs, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing their understanding of lab operations and reinforcing academic concepts.
5. Maintains computer hardware and software applications inventory for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment and/or instructional material in the computer lab.
6. Maintains computer lab (e.g. instructional materials, appropriate software, sets up materials for daily activities, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment and programs to enhance the instructional program.
7. Monitors student activities while in the computer lab for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning.
8. Provides instruction and assistance to students in the use and application of computer aided learning and instructional software. Assist students with math lab assignments
9. Prepare class displays and bulletin boards
10. Participates in professional development training programs
11. Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as requested by his/her supervisor(s)
