Job Summary
This part-time adjunct faculty position requires teaching in-person undergraduate courses in the Recreational Therapy degree program on an as needed basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Face-to-face course delivery and instruction.
+ Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
+ Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
+ Communicate with other program and school-level faculty.
+ Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy or a related field (ex: Doctorate in Occupational Therapy). Ability to teach effectively, according to University standards, in the undergraduate Recreational Therapy program. Criminal history and background check clearance. Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the School of Health Professions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Specialized knowledge in the field of Recreational Therapy as demonstrated by graduate level coursework or professional experience is required.
+ Candidates should have the ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
+ Candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.
+ Candidates should have the ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, as well as other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching, mentoring, and/or service experience at the university level. Professional experience in Recreational Therapy. Experience with USM's Learning Management System, Canvas.
