Job Summary

The School of Social Science and Global Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach lower-level French language courses either online or face-to-face. The primary responsibility of this position will be teaching a one-semester beginning or intermediate French .

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

+ Teach French classes as needed.

+ Attend program meetings as determined by the program coordinator.

+ Follow all university, college, and school policies regarding teaching practices and job performance.

+ Be responsive to communication from students, staff, and administration.

+ Hold regular office hours.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

18 graduate hours of French.

Master's degree in French and experience with online teaching.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Knowledge of language and culture in the teaching field; skill in delivering required knowledge and ability to engender learning in students.

+ Use of Canvas and ability to teach online both synchronous and asynchronous.

+ Ability to use Mindtap and work with online textbook materials.

+ Professionalism in all activities, participating in a collegial, ethical and responsible manner.

+ Ability to respond to inquiries from students, staff and administration in a timely manner as stipulated.

Preferred Qualifications

LMS course design experience.
