Director, Business Performance Management

Humana is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Business Performance Management, to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of our operational performance management. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role will be pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, and the achievement of key business objectives. The Director will be responsible for establishing clear performance metrics, driving accountability, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making within the Operations function.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ **Strategy Development and Execution:** Develop and implement a comprehensive business performance management and governance strategy for the Enterprise and Medicaid Segment Operations.

+ **Performance Framework Design:** Establish and maintain a robust framework for defining, measuring, and monitoring key operational performance indicators (KPIs) across all operational areas.

+ **Performance Monitoring and Reporting:** Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of operational performance data. Develop insights, highlight trends, identify areas for improvement, and track progress against targets.

+ **Accountability and Ownership:** Drive accountability for operational performance across different teams and functions. Establish clear roles and responsibilities related to performance management and governance.

+ **Data-Driven Decision Making:** Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making within operations by providing accurate and timely performance insights and facilitating data analysis to identify root causes and inform improvement initiatives.

+ **Risk Management and Compliance:** Collaborate with risk management and compliance functions to integrate risk considerations into performance management frameworks. Ensure operational processes adhere to relevant state regulations and internal policies.

+ **Continuous Improvement Integration:** Work closely with Process Improvement teams to ensure that performance data informs and prioritizes improvement initiatives. Monitor the impact of improvement efforts on key performance metrics.

+ **Operating Model:** Oversees the Medicaid Operating model, ensures appropriate use and controls changes to ensure ongoing alignment across the Medicaid segment.

+ **Stakeholder Management:** Partner effectively with senior operations leaders, finance, IT, and other relevant departments to align on performance goals, reporting requirements, and governance standards.

+ **Team Leadership and Development:** Build and lead a high-performing team responsible for business performance management and governance. Provide coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members.

+ **Technology and Tools:** Evaluate and implement relevant technology solutions and tools to enhance performance monitoring, data analysis, and reporting capabilities.

**?Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Policy & Management, Operations Management, Finance, Data Science, or a related field. Master's Degree preferred.

+ Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in healthcare administration, health insurance, or consulting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

+ Proven track record of developing and implementing successful initiatives within an operations environment.

+ Strong understanding of key operational metrics and performance management methodologies.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.

+ Proficiency in data analysis tool (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI platforms like Tableau, Power BI).

+ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

+ Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

+ Knowledge of risk management principles and compliance requirements within an operations context.

**Additional Information**

+ **Workstyle:** Hybrid Home - This is a hybrid home position where employees primarily work from their home office, occasionally using company office space for collaboration and face-to-face needs.

+ **Location:** Work from home

+ **Typical Work Days/Hours** : Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST.

+ **Travel:** 20%- in-person collaboration meetings, business conferences, etc.

**Pay Range**

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$168,000 - $231,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
