The Consulting Pharmacist role is a telephonic based position in a specialty mail order pharmacy that will mainly consist of inbound phone calls from both patients and prescribers.
Must reside within an approximate 50-mile radius of Birmingham, Alabama, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Flint, Michigan, Overland Park, Kansas, Columbus, Mississippi or anywhere within the states of Florida or Arizona. Position will be on-site for 16 weeks of training and then work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges in select locations. Training for Florida and Arizona positions will be held remotely. Positions in Columbus, Mississippi and Birmingham, Alabama will work on-site only.
The shift for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm local time, one evening per week until 7:00 pm local time and Saturday rotation (5-6 per year).
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Verify the accuracy of prescriptions translated by pharmacy technicians
+ Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of a patient's drug therapy through drug utilization review, while meeting department standards for productivity and quality
+ Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations pertaining to the dispensing of controlled substances and the maintenance of required records
+ Provide drug information to patients and co-workers
+ Communicate and interact with members and other health care providers regarding a member's drug therapy
+ Complete other tasks and assignments as it relates to the practice of pharmacy

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor or Doctorate Degree of Pharmacy (PharmD)
+ Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State(s) residence including Alabama, Indiana, Michigan, Kansas, Mississippi, Arizona and/or Florida
+ 1+ years of Pharmacist experience
+ Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment including Microsoft Word and Outlook
+ Availability to train Monday - Friday during dayshift business hours for up to 16 weeks
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ High volume retail pharmacy experience
+ Pharmacist experience in mail order (PBM setting)
