Service Inquiry Tech
Job Description

The Service Inquiry Technician plays a critical role in supporting service delivery by evaluating customer serviceability, generating KMZ files from the existing backbone to prospective customer locations, and estimating costs for Outside Plant (OSP) construction. This includes calculating labor and material expenses, coordinating with internal teams, and contributing to a high-volume production environment.

-Generate KMZ files to map service paths from backbone infrastructure to customer premises

-Prepare detailed cost estimates for OSP construction, including labor, materials, and permitting

-Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Network Planning, and Construction teams to validate serviceability and design feasibility

-Maintain production targets and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-output environment

-Document all inquiry responses, cost breakdowns, and design files in internal systems

-Assist in refining service inquiry processes and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency

-Respond to internal requests for serviceability assessments and technical input

Skills and Requirements

-?Associate's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

-?2+ years of experience in telecom, OSP design, or service inquiry roles

-?Proficiency with mapping tools (e.g., Google Earth, KMZ/KML formats) and GIS platforms

-?Familiarity with OSP construction practices and cost modeling

-?Strong analytical and organizational skills

-?Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

-?Experience working in a production-driven environment with tight deadlines -?Experience with fiber network design software (e.g., Vetro FiberMap, OSPInsight)

-?Knowledge of permitting and regulatory requirements for OSP builds

-?Understanding of sales and pre-sales engineering workflows
