Associate Retirement Benefits Lead

The Associate Retirement Benefits Lead applies forward-looking, innovative thought to strategy, design and delivery to help position the company as an employer-of-choice in the present and future. The Associate Benefits Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Associate Retirement Benefits Lead utilizes deep understanding of contemporary practice and the associate community to develop and implement competitive benefit opportunities that contribute to associates and emphasize perceived value while balancing expense and business requirements, including regulatory compliance. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

This role will be responsible for overseeing and implementing various strategic initiatives within the Humana retirement plans program. The Lead will also collaborate with our HR core partners along with our vendor partners on strategy, design, communications, and compliance.

Under the general direction and oversight of the Associate Director of Retirement & Financial Well-being, this role will serve as the primary under the core functions:

**Responsibilities:**

+ Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, and other regulatory agencies for non-qualified deferred compensation plans, US qualified retirement plans, and Puerto Rico qualified retirement plans.

+ Lead project implementations and plan design changes, which includes creating timelines and process workflows along with coordinating with both vendor and internal partners, and ERISA counsel.

+ Subject matter expert on all Humana sponsored retirement plans along with one non-qualified deferred compensation plan.

+ Collaborate with HR and Finance partners, recordkeeper, and external auditors on annual plan audit, non-discrimination testing, 11K filings, and 5500 filings.

+ Work in partnership with Executive compensation on executive programs and executive onboarding.

+ Lead discussions with vendor partners on ongoing retirement plan updates and regulatory changes.

+ Support Merger and Acquisition activities including overseeing due diligence and implementation efforts.

+ Collaborate with internal partners regarding data analytics across all Retirement and Financial Well-being programs and benefits.

+ Develop and maintain plan documentation, standard operating procedures, and participant communications and resources.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree.

+ Strong organizational and communication skills.

+ 7+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, consulting, or recordkeeping systems.

+ Strong knowledge of ERISA and retirement plan regulations including DOL and IRS requirements.

+ Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.

+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience with non-qualified deferred compensation plans and defined benefit plans.

+ Plan Sponsor experience.

+ Experience with Puerto Rico qualified retirement plans.

+ Understanding of non-qualified deferred compensation plans and 409A.

+ Experience managing retirement plans with over 10,000+ associates within large, complex benefit tier structure.

**Additional Information**

The workstyle for this role is flexible. Our team ranges from in-office in Louisville to fully remote across the country.

**Pay Range**

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$115,200 - $158,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
