**I. Job Summary**
The Director of Disposal Operations is responsible for supervising all aspects of disposal operations within a Tier. Leads, guides and influences Area Disposal Director activities and performance of financial results and productivity of multiple Operating Units. Ensures that Operating Units meet or exceed annual objectives and successfully implement organizational initiatives. Provides field leadership and support for standardizing operating practices and driving operations improvement Daily activities would include providing business partner support to the VP in all disposal activities.
**II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Conducts site operations review and ensures direct compliance with applicable rules, regulations and best management practices where necessary.
+ Works with the Market Area Vice Presidents, Area General Managers, Area Disposal Directors, Area Optimization Directors, Area Heavy Equipment Managers, Area Engineering Managers, Environmental Protection Managers, Area Gas Operations Managers, District Managers, and Operations Manager to effectively drive performance improvement opportunities.
+ Supports analysis and reviews of the day-to-day operations of the district.
+ Provides daily support to Management Teams to understand how to use tools and processes in relation to the SOP's
+ Leads review of asset allocation to ensure appropriate heavy equipment fleet size.
+ Partners with Corporate Operations & Optimization with proactive reviews and assignments.
+ Participates and supports regular P&L progress reviews to ensure that budgets are met with emphasis on Revenue, Revenue Reduction, Route Profitability, Customer profitability, Labor Costs and Maintenance Costs.
+ Collaborates with Area and Corporate operations & Optimization and sales management to implement and manage programs such as WM Way, and Modern Landfill Excellence (MLE).
+ Serves as operations advisor to corporate leadership.
+ Provides direct support and leadership in the event of a natural disaster, labor issue or as requested.
+ Provides Operations support and consultation to Group SVP.
+ Assists in preparation of annual landfill workbooks.
+ Works with MA expansion teams to improve landfill expansion projects success ratio.
+ Conducts training of landfill employees in various functional areas.
+ Responsible for assisting in the preparation of annual budget and disposal site capital planning and expenditures.
+ Analyzes disposal operations financial and productivity data to measure absolute and relative performance and communicates appropriate information with Tier SVP.
+ Approves operational assumptions for all Tier disposal development projects.
+ Supports Area Leadership in disposal site management changes and personnel decisions.
+ Improves Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), equipment utilization and airspace consumption at disposal sites.
+ Coordinates and implements engineering, environmental protection, maintenance, landfill gas to energy, EH&S and procurement support to sites.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 15+ years of increasingly responsible experience in disposal operations and support.

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $185220 - $250110. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
