In-vehicle audio systems are critically important to the customer's experience in our vehicles as Ford transitions from a manufacturer of vehicles to a producer of vehicles for the delivery of digital experiences and brand enhancing services. This position will play a key role in that transition and in developing and delivering class leading in-vehicle customer experiences and services.
This role will contribute to the end-to-end software integration and delivery of the audio subsystem within Ford's infotainment system. Integration involves both hardware and software developed internally to Ford and by vendors for multiple Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The engineer will work in concert with audio subject matter experts across multidisciplinary development teams in support of features such as media playback, AM/FM/HD/DAB and SiriusXM audio tuners, chimes & alerts, voice recognition, handsfree telephony, Active Noise Control, propulsion sound enhancement and pedestrian sounders.
**What you'll do...**
+ Problem solving is the key responsibility of this role, the candidate will review CAN, A2B and other network logs, vehicle diagnostics and other data sources to determine root cause, communicate the findings and validate provided fixes.
+ Audio System Issue Triage and Resolution (Launching and Forward Models) with a focused responsibility on the externally supplied ECUs (Audio Control Module and DSP amplifiers)
+ Responsible to understand audio subsystem and component specifications to understand theory of operation for features/functions.
+ Understand test cases/test methods related to the audio subsystem
+ Daily software defect meetings for exterior supplied ECUs
+ Integration event testing for subsystem mini-benches, full vehicle breadboard testing, and vehicle level testing.
+ Maintain a prioritized JIRA backlog of all defects, implementation stories, and change requests for use in sprint planning
+ Analyze vehicle drive fleet and program launch issues as assigned to audio with a focus again on Audio Controller or DSP amplifier externally supplied ECUs
+ Support of any program meetings as required with the Design & Release or Applications engineers
+ Audio System Warranty Improvement (Current Production Models) - Audio System Issue Triage and Resolution utilizing above mentioned tools and additional diagnostics information for vehicles in the field to perform issue triage
+ Over the Air validation efforts before deployment to the field
+ Stay up to date on the latest advancements in audio technologies, automotive audio trends, and system measurement and analysis techniques.

+ Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
+ 5+ years of experience with automotive radio and infotainment software system design
+ Experience delivering radio/infotainment features using agile scrum methodology.
+ Experience in CAN log analysis and system level troubleshooting

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440. This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $97,140-162,540., This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $113,580-190,500.
