Job Summary
This position is housed with The Children's Center for Communication and Development. The Pediatric Audiologist (Ped. AuD) would provide pediatric and educational audiology services for students enrolled at The Children's Center across clinic, classroom, home, and community settings between both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Park campus locations. The Ped. AuD will provide parent/caregiver training/education for enrolled students and development training to professionals along with supervision of pre-professionals at The Children's Center.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Diagnoses and manages auditory disorders, coordinating appropriate medical referrals when needed.
+ Coordinates Center-wide hearing and vision screenings, following recommended timeline practices based on diagnoses and risks.
+ Provides outreach training and technical assistance to childcare providers, school district personnel, rehabilitation service providers, and the medical community.
+ Maintains Center continuing education provider status, course registration, and reporting for professional development events.
+ Performs relevant assessments and provides recommendations for educational programming in collaboration with trans-disciplinary staff and caregivers.
+ Maintains appropriate documentation of services in accordance with MDE, MSDH-First Steps, MS Medicaid, and ASHA guidelines and adheres to University and program policies, procedures, and regulations.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
