Job Summary
The Director for Professional and Community Development and Training leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive professional development initiatives within the Institute for Disability Studies (IDS). This position develops evidence-based training programs to advance skills of educators, service providers, families, and community partners in the areas of education, vocational rehabilitation, community inclusion, and developmental disabilities. The Director collaborates with university faculty and staff, state and national partners, and interdisciplinary area coordinators within IDS to expand training opportunities and promote best practices across the state. This role also coordinates the strategic planning and management of multidisciplinary community development and training activities to support program growth and statewide impact.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Develops, coordinates and evaluates professional development programming, training series, and technical assistance activities that support IDS emphasis area priorities.
+ Designs accessible in-person, virtual, and hybrid training using evidence-based practices to support educators, service providers, families and community.
+ Collaborates with university faculty, staff, state agencies, school districts, disability and rehabilitation providers, and community organizations to identify training needs and expand IDS training and contractual outreach.
+ Supervises emphasis area staff in the development of training materials and curricula to ensure alignment with federal and state requirements related to disability services and education.
+ Coordinates data collection, evaluation, and reporting related to professional development activities and training outcomes to support program improvement and accountability.
+ Leads and supports strategic planning initiatives aligned with IDS goals and objectives to guide program development and community engagement efforts.
+ Oversees IDS community development initiatives and supports grant development by contributing training components to proposals and assisting with grant-funded training deliverables.
+ Supervised training staff, graduate assistants and interns as assigned.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
