**Director Performance Analytics -** **Auto Liability Claims**

**Overview:** The ABI and GL Claims Performance Analytics group is seeking a Director to drive claim insights and strategy with a focus on Auto Bodily Injury claims. As a leader on the Claim Performance Analytics team, this position will lead a small team to create innovative solutions, understand trends, and develop actionable insights for the organization.

This role is highly visible within Claims and to business segment leadership, requiring both a mastery of detailed technical analysis and the ability to clearly communicate to higher levels of the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, uncover key drivers, and communicate clear, concise insights that inform business decisions. As an expert resource for business segment executives, this leader will monitor trends within ABI across business segments, reporting findings to the leaders of the Auto line of business. Essential to success will be the ability to build strong, trusted relationships with Actuarial and Product business partners by converting claims metrics into actionable business insights.

This leader will also hold the responsibility of partnering with Transformation & Optimization Office (T&OO) to identify areas of opportunity, contribute to initiative development, and support the implementation of innovative solutions that enhance claim performance and operational efficiency.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Translatedata into actionable insights andpresent clearresults and recommendations to various levels of business leadership, with a focus on articulating the "so what" and "now what".

+ Lead and develop a teamof5-7PerformanceAnalysts tocreate, test, and validate Key Performance Indicators, analyze and deliverinsights, while elevating the team's analytical rigor.

+ Oversee the creation of advanced leading indicator metrics and analytical frameworks, including the application ofadvancedstatistical methods where appropriate.

+ Lead deep dive analysis into emerging trends and root cause analysis, explain results and recommendations to Claims and Segment Executive Leadership

+ Develop a deep understanding of the claim process and interactions with overall results.

+ Regularly participatein Claim and business segment meetings, serving as a thought partner who challenges assumptions and brings forward new insights.

+ Organizeand balancemultiple prioritiesin a fast-paced environment.

+ Evaluateand integratenew tools or analytical techniques to enhance data insights and performanceanalytics.

**Qualifications:**

+ A minimum of five years of experience in an analytic function (Finance, Operations, Claims,Actuarial,orData Science) within the insurance industry; experience with advanced trending analyticsand statistics. Experience applying advanced quantitative or statistical methods (i.e. regression, segmentation, predictive modeling or similar techniques) in a business setting is strongly preferred.

+ A minimum of two years in a leadership role successfully developing a team, with a demonstrated ability to coach and elevate analytical thinking.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability totranslate complex analysis into clear, concise, and compelling insights for executive audiences.

+ Extensive analytical experience using limited data to draw insights.

+ Documented track record of creating innovative data solutions; passion for delivering outcomes,withastrong emphasis on insight generate vs. reporting.

+ Collaborative;demonstratedability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

+ Disciplined and structured thought leader with the ability to understand customer needs.

+ Experience with Data Visualization tools and techniques such as Tableau orsimilar platforms, with the ability to move beyond visualization to insight generation.

+ Strategic thinker; intellectually curious; transparent approach to discussing analytics.

+ Able to work independently;excellent judgment and sound decision-making skills.

+ Creative problem-solving mindset with a passion for delivering outcomes.

+ Auto Bodily Injuryexperience or knowledge of actuarial principles is a strong plus.

+ Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or an equivalent/related degree preferred.

**Compensation**

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$138,000 - $207,000
