This team develops public cloud database and infrastructure management software and helps companies manage platform resources to deliver service, elasticity, and availability, as well as run workloads in public-cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid-cloud environments.

**Oracle Database Cloud Services**

As an Architect of Development, you will own and lead software architecture and development of major components for the Database Cloud Service offerings on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Cloud@Customer and in multicloud offerings on other Hyperscaler platforms such as Azure, GCP and AWS. You must have experience designing and architecting highly scalable distributed systems, managed cloud services and enterprise grade databases.

You will be expected to work hands-on to define, improve and lead the architecture and design of the Service Control Plane and Data plane for the database services. Continuous innovations across database cloud in terms of design and delivery of new capabilities, highly evolved customer experience and advanced SRE/operations is a key function of the role. Responsibilities also include working with leadership and key engineering teams to build product roadmaps and help drive strategic initiatives to increase adoption of the database services.

**Qualifications**

+ 15+ years of software design and development experience with distributed, highly scalable and available systems

+ Candidate must have a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields

+ Deep knowledge of systems components including OS/Linux, Virtualization/KVM, Storage, Networking and Computing Architectures

+ Understanding of Database internals, availability and performance

+ Experience architecting and building Cloud Native Database services

+ Experience with Control Plane design and development

+ Strong understanding of Hyper-converged infrastructure, RoCE/RDMA, SR-IOV

+ Experience building services/solutions for one or more public cloud hyperscaler platforms

+ Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring and coaching for engineering staff and working across geographies.

+ Demonstrated experience with Java, Python, C/C++ Experience with Oracle databases and technologies like RAC/Data Guard/Exadata a strong plus.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $136,600 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
