About The Role
The purpose of the Estimator position is to estimate project costs based on information provided or collected and create estimate documentation for use by the sales team including written proposals, written statements of work, pricing summaries, and pricing analysis. The ideal candidate will have a background in facilities building management or SMART Systems, HVAC systems, video monitoring systems, and access control systems.
What You'll Do
+ Utilize skills, experience, and independent judgment toassistin theselectionof devices,components, andthedetermination of labor hoursfor thedevelopment ofestimates.
+ Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and installation quotes.
+ Take-off andestimateprojectswhilemaintainingcompany profit marginsby evaluatingdesign alternatives for cost, profitability, and system performance.
+ Participate in project kickoffmeetings, andwork in concert with other departments to ensure the success and profitability of the project.
+ Prepare project bid documents and on-site surveys for retrofit-type projects.
+ Prepareaccurateand detailed construction cost estimates in a Bill of Quantities or similar format, from high-level conceptual design through final construction document completion
+ Research regional pricing of material and labor using published documents and market data.
+ Interface withclientsor cost/project management team to define cost requirements and goals and issue recommendations as needed.
+ Set upanestimate work breakdown structure to align withthebudget and cost reporting system.
+ Prepare detailed bid analysis and review sessions with project teams and senior management tovalidateaquantityrecord booklet (or equivalent)submittedby contractors/subcontractors.
+ Support the Cost Manager when reviewing and approvinglarge changeorders and review invoicessubmittedfor reviewandapproval during the project.
What You'll Need
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical DesignorEngineering Technologyora combination ofeducation andexperiencewill be considered in lieu ofadegree.
+ Minimum of4years of experience with estimating mechanical systems application and design.
+ Knowledge of commercial Heating & Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systemsand control systems.
+ Knowledge of Network architecture,Access Control systems,andVideo Monitoring Systemsis preferred.
+ Knowledgeof computer hardware and software includingMicrosoftOffice,Outlook,Google Drive, andother applications.
+ Must be able to read and understand HVAC/R mechanical drawings,plumbing drawings, and electrical drawings includingwiring diagrams,andschematics.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $74,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $78,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
