**Position Overview**
The IT Services Senior Manager is responsible for analyzing and directing IT-related activities for the organization or program while leading staff assigned to the IT function. This role is accountable for ensuring continuity of computer, network, and application services through planning, technical leadership, project management, and alignment of IT services with business requirements.
The position oversees enterprise IT operations across infrastructure, cloud and external services, communications, virtualization, databases, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, security, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Manager also drives continual improvement through standards, policy development, technology research, stakeholder engagement, operational assessments, and strategic solutioning.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead and direct IT-related activities across infrastructure, applications, networks, communications, cloud services, virtualization, databases, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, security, and compliance.
+ Ensure continuity of computer, network, and application services through technical leadership, project coordination, service planning, and operational oversight.
+ Align IT services with business processes and customer requirements while promoting best practices and continuous service improvement.
+ Perform technical analysis, effort estimation, system and product design review, architectural fit assessment, compliance evaluation, resource planning, milestone management, and quality oversight.
+ Forecast costs, software, hardware, equipment, and personnel needs for IT projects and operations, and prepare and administer budgets and budget performance reports.
+ Recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades for business applications, servers, network equipment, laptops, mobile devices, and related IT assets.
+ Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, procedures, and standards to strengthen service delivery, security, and operational effectiveness.
+ Audit systems and assess outcomes, ensure security of data and network access, and maintain backup and recovery readiness.
+ Identify operational issues, analyze root causes, and implement strategic solutions to improve procedures, communications, reporting, and efficiency.
+ Prepare short- and long-range systems plans and priority recommendations, oversee feasibility studies, and validate implementation success through monitoring, documentation, and system audits.
+ Analyze complex business and user needs and recommend technical solutions that support consistency, maintainability, and quality across existing and future applications.
+ Lead, mentor, and manage assigned staff, including recruiting, setting expectations, approving timecards, conducting performance reviews, coaching employees, and enforcing organizational policies and procedures.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
+ 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology.
+ 5+ years of experience managing IT staff.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Advanced knowledge of commercial and open-source computer, network, telecom, hosted, and cloud hardware, software, and service offerings.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage a matrixed workforce and drive collaboration across teams to meet department or contract objectives.
+ Proven ability to identify, diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex technical and operational issues and implement corrective strategies.
+ Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess alternatives and determine effective courses of action.
+ Ability to think long-term, establish achievable action plans, and apply new technology knowledge to improve services and outcomes.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ Experience leading enterprise IT operations in complex, multi-service environments.
+ Experience overseeing cloud services, virtualization platforms such as VMware, communications services, and enterprise infrastructure operations.
+ Demonstrated experience establishing IT policies, standards, and governance processes that improve service quality and compliance.
+ Experience leading infrastructure assessments, audits, remediation activities, and operational improvement initiatives.
+ Proven success partnering with stakeholders and customers to align technical services with business strategy and operational goals.

**Compensation Ranges**
Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
