**The Role**

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Responsible for supporting Systems Engineering efforts for programs of interest. Systems Engineering efforts include but are not limited to: :

o Requirements Management

o System Architecture

o Interface Management

- Assist in Process Improvement efforts on the program

- Assist Ingalls Lead Systems Engineer with initiatives with customers

The role supports the gathering of information from the many disciplines across the program to build and support various tools and processes which show the interrelationships of engineering requirements.

**Must Have**

5 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree.

**Nice to Have**

A Master of Science in Engineering is highly preferred

The preferred candidate should have shipbuilding and technical experience with emphasis in one or more of the following areas:

- Systems Engineering

- Engineering and System Design

- System Architecture and Interface Management

- Requirements Management

Candidate should have the ability to balance and influence multiple competing priorities and individuals. Candidate should have ability to work with different types of supervision and possess skills to coordinate and clearly and effectively communicate and foster effective relationships with internal and external customers.

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as, analytical, presentation and human relations' skills are essential.
